But most importantly, there are very few actors who match Angelina Jolie's raw talent. Three Golden Globes, one Oscar, and she's not even thirty yet.

By age 16, Angelina moved out ons her own and began modeling. She grabbed a few spots, and also had parts in music videos, most notably the Rolling Stones. She began film studies at the New York University (also where Adam Sandler had just graduated). She soon gave up on school and began working with the Met Theatre Group in Los Angeles. Angelina was not yet certain that acting was what she wanted out of life, but she definitely thought it sparked an interest. "I loved some kind of expression ... I'm very good at trying to explore different emotions and listen to people and feel things. That is an actor, I think."

By 1993, Angelina had decided to pursue acting full time. A forgetable first role in Cyborg II: Glass Shadow followed, but soon thereafter Angelina nabbed a role in Hackers, alongside Matthew Lillard and Jonny Lee Miller. The film got good reviews for Angelina, but incredibly bad reviews for the film. Regardless, Angelina got her first husband. She and Jonny Lee hit it off, and they married soon after. The wedding had Angelina wearing leather pants and a white t-shirt with her husband's name written in blood on her back. But, blood apparently wasn't thicker than water. Within a year, the two were separated, but their divorce wasn't finalized until 2000.

A slew of underappreciated and impressive roles followed, most notably in the Joyce Carol Oates adaptation of Foxfire, a film about females rising up to the taunts and repression of their peers.

But then came George Wallace. Gary Sinise played a large role in the film which received a great deal of critical acclaim, as did Angelina. A Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress and an Emmy nomination later, and Angelina was suddenly the talk of the town. But it was her starring role in HBO's Gia (based on the life of model Gia Carangi) that skyrocketed her to success. The film was a huge hit, both with audiences and critics alike. Another Golden Globe, this for Best Actress, followed, as well as another Emmy nomination.

Pushing Tin, The Bone Collector, and Playing By Heart followed each receiving mixed reviews, but all coming back with one thing in common : Angelina was excellent. She carried both Pushing Tin and The Bone Collector, and her and Ryan Phillippe were simply captivating in Playing By Heart. But, it was Girl, Interrupted, a film that was supposed to relaunch Winona Ryder, that in fact catapulted Angelina into superstardom. She won an Oscar, stole the film out from under Winona, and was quickly established as the actress in Hollywood.

But with fame, also comes the scrutiny of the public eye. Her devotion to her brother lead to ludicrous rumors of romantic involvement which undermined everything beautiful about her relationship with her brother (James Haven). Then, she married actor Billy Bob Thorton (formerly involved with Laura Dern) after an alleged mental institution stay.

Regardless, there are very few actors who command the attention, respect, and awe of entire audiences. Angelina is an actress for the ages, and personal problems or not, one of the most interesting and real actors in Hollywood.

Personal quotes

"Therapy? I don't need that. The roles that I choose are my therapy."

"Because I am a bad girl, people always automatically think that I am a bad girl. Or that I carry a dark secret with me or that I'm obsessed with death. The truth is that I am probably the least morbid person one can meet. If I think more about death than some other people, it is probably because I love life more than they do."

"And my dad, you're a great actor but you're a better father."

Angelina slept with mum's lover at 16

Actress Angelina Jolie's new biography by Andrew Morton alleges that the actress slept with her mum's boyfriend when she was 16. According to Now mag, Jolie and her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, could not come to terms with each other after the Tomb Raider star confessed to the act.

"Marcheline had a live-in boyfriend whom she was very much in love with, but Ange slept with him when she was 16 and barely out of school,"

"Her mother found out and ended her relationship with the man. When Ange admitted the story to her brother James just a few weeks ago, even he turned on her. She has hardly anyone left in life who likes or trusts her."

Angelina Jolie wants to 'fade away' from acting

ANGELINA JOLIE has vowed to quit Hollywood to bring up her young family

The actress, 33, has six children with BRAD PITT – four-month-old twins VIVIENNE MARCHELINE and KNOX LEON, daughter SHILOH and adopted siblings MADDOX, ZAHARA and PAX.

Speaking to the BBC on a publicity tour for new film Changeling, Angie was asked if losing her looks may cut her career short.

She replied: “I don’t think about it much because I don’t plan to keep acting very long.

“I’m ready to do a few things now and fade away and get ready to be a grandma one day.

“So I’m not so worried that I want to keep this pace up and try to be something and be a celebrity and be a successful actress forever.

“I think it’s nice, I’ve had a time to tell stories and be able to be successful enough to tell the ones I want to tell, and to earn some money at the same time is great.

“But everything comes in seasons and, you know, I hopefully won’t be needing to do that later in my life in any way.”

However Angelina has said she will still do one-off projects if they capture her interest.

She added: “I don’t think I’ll ever say I’m never ever going to work because maybe there’s that interesting project where I feel creative – but certainly I think now I haven’t worked for a year.

“I’ll work for a few months in February. I won’t work again probably for another year.

“So maybe it’ll be once a year and maybe it’ll be once every three years and just naturally - I like being home a lot these days.”

Jolie-Pitts Donate $2 Million to Create Ethiopian Health Center

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt may have newborn twins and four other children to care for, but that doesn't stop them from looking after hundreds of thousands of children in Ethiopia, too.

The Jolie-Pitt Foundation made a $2 million donation to the Global Health Committee on Saturday to create a center for AIDS- and tuberculosis-affected children in Ethiopia. The center will be named after the couple's daughter Zahara, 3, who was adopted from the African nation in 2005.

"It is our hope when Zahara is older, she will take responsibility of the clinic and continue its mission," Pitt said in a statement announcing the donation.

Ethiopia has the seventh highest rate of tuberculosis in the world and an estimated 1.7 million people who are infected with HIV. The new clinic will be modeled after the Maddox Chivan Children's Center in Cambodia, named after the eldest Jolie-Pitt child and established in 2006.

"Our goal is to transfer the success we have had in Cambodia to Ethiopia, where people are needlessly dying of tuberculosis, a curable disease, and HIV/AIDS, a treatable disease," said Jolie in the statement.

Anne Goldfeld, cofounder of the Global Health Committee, said, "The Jolie-Pitt gift will allow us to deliver care and ease the great suffering caused by TB and AIDS with what we know works right now, while we continue scientific discovery to improve prevention and treatment of these diseases in the future."

Angelina Jolie Loses Critics’ Choice Award but Looks Smokin’ Hot!

Angelina Jolie may have lost at last night's Critics' Choice Awards but that doesn't mean she wasn't the highlight of the night.

Angie and her beau, Brad Pitt, walked the red carpet hand in hand at the prestigious awards show, but it was Angelina who wanted to stop and pose for photographers.

The dynamic duo was running late when they arrived at last night's event, but Angie wanted to make sure she satisfied the photogs.

Angelina, decked out in a black, knee-length dress and matching black trench coat, looked smokin' hot on the red carpet. And her best accessory, Mr. Pitt, didn't look too shabby either.

But, in all the red carpet madness, the poised pair didn't realize that they were holding up the show.

A source said "Angelina and Brad were the last to arrive. Organizers were shouting, ‘The show is starting! Everyone has to come inside now!' But Angelina stopped to pose and answer questions."

Jolie was nominated for Best Actress for her role in A Mighty Heart but lost out to Julie Christie, who took home the award for her role in Away From Her.

Angelina Jolie Mends Relationship with Estranged Father

The image “http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/06/01/angelina_jolie___jon_voight_2.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Let's take a quick break from Britney-mania for a second and talk about an actress who has a strong head on her shoulders.

Angelina Jolie has reportedly reached out to her estranged father, Jon Voight, by calling him on Christmas Eve to say hello.

Before their supposed chat in December, Angie and her father had not spoken since June 2002 when Voight told a television show that he hoped Angelina would get help for her "serious emotional problems." Hey, if Angie can turn it around, maybe there's still hope for Britney.

And now, five years later, Angie's father has nothing but good things to say about his little girl.

"I'm very impressed with Angelina's work, with some of the humanitarian things and she's a great actress," says Voight.

"I am always thinking of Brad and the kids. I'm sending my love that way."

According to media reports, the call was short but meant a great deal to both Angie and her father.

Good to see things are going well for someone!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie – Another Baby in 2008?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may have one of the largest celeb families in the world but that doesn't mean they're finished growing.

Angelina tells In Touch Weekly that she and Brad are happy right now but may be planning to have another baby in 2008.

"We will have more children, but right now we're adjusting to everybody and it's still new.

"But who knows, maybe we will have another child in 2008."

And it appears Angie is interested in having another baby - not adopting.

Despite rumors that she's dubbed her only biological daughter Shiloh as the outcast of the family, Angie insists she's just as happy having her own children as she is adopting.

Wonder what Brad thinks about having another child?

Like it matters, Angie has worn the pants in their family since the day they stepped foot on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

If she wants another baby, a baby she will get!

Do you think Brangie will have another baby this year?

Angelina Jolie Says Daughter Shiloh is an Outcast

Shiloh Pitt-Jolie is quite possibly one of the most adorable babies on the face of the planet. But why is her mom, Angelina Jolie, already pinning her as the outcast of the family?

The Beowulf star calls her only biological daughter an outcast because she looks so different compared to the couple's adopted children, Maddox, Zahara and Pax.

Jolie goes on to say that she feels more of a connection with the adopted kids because they survived poverty and pain as young children.

So it's Shiloh's fault Angelina made millions of dollars and decided to have a baby with one of the richest men alive? Ya, that makes sense.

"[Shiloh] looks like Brad. It's funny because she's almost going to be the outcast in the family because she's blonde and blue-eyed. I felt so much more for Madd, Zahara and Pax because they were survivors," Angelina reportedly told Look Magazine.

"Shiloh seemed so privileged from the moment she was born. But I'm conscious that I have to make sure I don't ignore her needs, just because I think the others are more vulnerable."

Making the poor girl feel like an outcast is hardly going to win Angie the Mother of the Year award, that's for sure.

Shiloh is a great candidate for the next generation's Britney Spears, Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan.

Can't wait to see what kind of trouble this girl gets into.
